Double page spread photos editing

I transferred the photos on to my phone to use the photos app for editing. As you can see in the original, the shadows are cannot bright and the photo is overexposed. In the editing app, I lowered the exposure and darkened the shadows to bring all the color back into the photo.

In the photos app on iphone, i darkened the highlights to bring out more color in the grass and in the trees in the background.

In the photos app on iphone, i darkened the exposure. As you can see, the original photo is over exposed just like the other photos i took. The edited photo below shows all the color and all the shadows after i have lowered the exposure.
